Do You Know How To Escape A Violent Situation, PROPERLY?

How many times have you heard a self defense or martial art instructor say to you or a class of students to run and escape from a potentially violent situation?

This should be one of the first things taught. But how many of them actually help you learn how to run away and escape? My guess is not many.

For years I have been training in a method called Parkour. Parkour is the art of movement. Moving effortlessly through your environment with speed and efficiency. Now for me, this is how you run and escape from a bad situation.

Whether it be you are running from someone trying to do you harm, or you are a police officer trying to chase down a murderer. Or maybe someone just grabbed your child and is trying to kidnap them, parkour can help. Wouldn’t you want to know the best way to do this?

Here are a couple of videos for you to watch that demonstrate some of the techniques used in parkour. While you watch them, try and imagine yourself doing what they are doing, trying to get away from someone, or trying to catch someone.

But after you watch them, make sure to leave us a comment below letting us know what ways you believe it can help to practice Parkour. Maybe give a situation or two.
