Why, Oh Why Did I Cheat
Okay, as many of you know, I only eat Paleo. But I really wanted to see what my body would do if I had some grains and dairy thrown into the mix. So this morning, I went ahead and went and got a breakfast flatbread sandwich (not the one pictured above). It had double bacon, white eggs, double pepper jack cheese and southwest sauce on it. Now keep in mind, this was simply and experiment and I don’t suggest you do this.
But whoever said that the “underground train” sub shop was healthy has got to be a huge idiot. About half way through the sandwich I noticed that my lower abdomen was starting to tighten up and feel quite bloated. By the time I got 3/4 of the way done with the sandwich, I could eat no more. The pain in my stomach was so intense I almost dropped to the floor. And I can take a huge amount of pain too.
Within 5 minutes I had to take GasX, Pepto, and 2 Tums just to slightly ease my stomach. Not to mention haveing to go to the bathroom not once, not twice, but 6 times within the space of only 1 hour.
Other symptoms I have had since eating everything is being lightheaded, a feeling of a slight shivering in my body, a headache, and a feeling like I am having a slight asthma issue. This does not include those problems and issues I have yet to notice. Or the internal problems I may never know about. Oh yeah baby, grains are good. Yeah right!
I am still feeling like crap due to this 1 meal, but I will tell you this, the whole time afterwards, all I kept thinking about is why, oh, why did I have to cheat and try this experiment. It simply is not worth it.
Most people that eat grains, sugar and dairy also have these problems but most don’t even realize that it most likely is coming from their diet. I am telling you, grains, sugar & dairy does not do a body good. It causes so many problems that the list of issues could most likely take up several volumes of books.
So that is about it for now. I just wanted to let you in on my experiment this morning. Have any of you done a similar experiment? Let me know in the comments below.

STAY PRIMAL, my friends
I cheat about once a week like Tim Ferriss talked about in his book. My thing is loving pasta to much. So once a week I have a big bowl of pasta. I may feel like crap for a little bit after but mmmm it's good. I don't see a big problem with cheating every once in a while. Even in the book the Primal Blueprint it talks about 80% sticking to the plan. Not 100%. Life is to short to not have some pleasures in life every once in a while.
DON'T CHEAT!!!!!!!! Even to experiment. I learned my lesson long ago. It could have detrimental effects on your body even if you are not aware of it. Don't risk it man.
I tell ya, I have only been on Paleo for about2 weeks and I already feel the difference. I was thinking about trying some pasta out for dinner tonight. But now I think not.
